Clay Bird Shooting
Set alongside our property lies The Governor’s Rest Clay Bird Shooting, a perfect corporate escape or group activity. It’s Marlborough’s only fully automated sporting clay bird system, offering a variety of targets from its six permanently housed Promatic traps.
Relax and enjoy the shooting in front of our custom-made brazier or challenge each other with the archery range and knife throwing board. Delicious meals all served on-site at the lodge.

Suitable for absolute beginners right through to seasoned shotgun shooters, with seven individual traps for different target scenarios, and a final group flurry shoot offering 50 targets.

Want to create some friendly rivalry between colleagues or friends? Our reactive targets and long-range gong create the perfect competition to hash out old arguments bond together.
Guests can choose: shotgun shooting, long range shooting, or give both a crack. Learn safe, steady shooting off the bench rest, then test your ability to shoot prone, sitting and standing.
What if your team doesn’t shoot guns?
We’ve got plenty they’ll love. Take in the breathtaking scenery, give archery or axe throwing a try, or watch the rivalry between team mates.
A NZ first: The tasting hut
Experience our exclusive tasting hut, where you’ll sample the finest whiskys, gins and wines from the breathtaking summit of the Avon Valley.
The only catch? Your team will *have* to travel via chopper, because it's that remote.
